Desenzano – Lakefront Redevelopment and Public Spaces
The Desenzano project stems from the desire to reconnect the historic city with the lake, transforming the waterfront into a seamless, accessible, and attractive public space. The project extends along the urban edge, integrating a new scenic bike path, pedestrian paths, seating, and relaxation areas near the water. In collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Milan, we studied scenarios for repurposing the urban landscape, including the inclusion of public greenery, recreational micro-infrastructures (urban swimming pools, piers, event spaces), and ecological enhancement strategies.
The master plan enhances the visual and functional relationship with the lake, mitigating climate change through drainage solutions and shade vegetation, with attention to the use of materials, accessibility, and inclusiveness.
