NDSM – Amsterdam | Urban Regeneration & Development Strategies
NDSM is a historic port area in the north of Amsterdam, currently being converted into an innovative, creative, and sustainable urban district. Once a shipyard, the area now houses mixed-use developments, cultural spaces, residential, offices, and light manufacturing, while maintaining its industrial and iconic character.
The project is based on a flexible development strategy, integrating new construction with the redevelopment of existing buildings, promoting low-impact development. We collaborated in defining the area's urban planning and design strategies, contributing volumetric studies, functional diagrams, and materials to support the decision-making process.
In particular, we developed drawings, maps, and presentations to evaluate urban planning scenarios, public space layouts, and connections between lots, taking into account municipal guidelines and the area's future vision.
